TINA TURNER

To speak of Tina Turner is to speak of a hurricane of energy, of a woman who didn’t just sing—she roared her place into the world.

MUSIC

The voice of strength

She wasn’t just a singer. She was an uncontainable fire that refused to go out, even in the darkest moments.

With her cute Azzedine Alaïa glitzy dresses so well photographed by Herb Ritts, we entered a whole era of unforgettable concerts during which we designed endless publicity.

I was lucky enough to meet her in person in April 1990, during her Foreign Affair tour. It was a brief encounter, but one I’ll never forget. The first thing that struck me—beyond her fame, beyond her legendary presence—were her legs. Long, elegant, almost impossibly so, as if they defied the proportions of her height. But more than her striking appearance, what completely disarmed me was her warmth. Tina radiated friendliness, as if she knew her power didn’t lie in keeping people at a distance, but in embracing them.

Tina didn’t just reinvent herself—she was reborn. She rose from the ashes of a life marked by abuse and pain, and turned it into music, into movement, into a bright declaration of freedom. Seeing her on stage was like witnessing a masterclass in resilience, no explanation needed.

“What’s Love Got to Do with It” wasn’t just a song. It was a manifesto. And with every verse, Tina spoke for millions of women who had been silent for far too long.

Today, her legacy isn’t measured only in records sold or awards won. It’s measured in the countless moments when someone stood up, dusted themselves off, and kept going, thinking: “If Tina could do it, so can I.”

We miss you, Tina.

With greatest love and appreciation for the input in my life.
